Games in The Dark is an actual-play TTRPG podcast in which a group of friends take a light-hearted approach to the grimmest settings. Since 2021, Game Master Jami Gayle has guided his group of questing misfits through worlds beset by darkness, doom, and desperate adventure. The group has dabbled in many game systems, such as Blades in the Dark, Lamentations of the Flame Princess, Mork Borg, and Delta Green. Their current campaigns use Zweihander and Outcast Silver Raiders, but they take occasional side quests to try out new themes and systems. Expect high stakes, low cunning, and entertaining ends. This is Games in The Dark.

Jami
Jami runs a rules-as-written game and does his best to interpret each system as its designers intended - despite his players’ shenanigans. Listeners can expect a good mix of campaign style, from homebrewed scenarios to pre-published modules. Jami has killed so many of our characters, and he yells at us right before we start recording to stfu so he can hit his cue. He’s watching me right now…
Jay
The resident historian and general note-taker of the group. Jay plays in both the Zweihander and Outcast Silver Raiders games. Jay is playing roguish slimeballs in both games.
Liam
Our southern gentleman who favors narrative choices over optimization. Liam also plays in both Zweihander and OSR. Liam plays a badass musclehead in OSR and a sweet farm lad in Zweihander.
Mason
A bohemian artist and the driving force for unorthodox approaches. Mason plays an old dude in Zweihander and a young boy in OSR. Mason runs the Cypher system for the group, but those sessions are super secret for the time being.
Noah
Our editor and tech wizard. He’s playing Cletus Corwallis in Zweihander, an Elven diabolist who fires magic from his fingertips in search of his next meal. In addition to the regular Zweihander game, Noah runs side quests of Dungeon Box for the group and you’ll hear him in Liminal Horror, among other things.
Sean
The group’s rules sleuth and jack-of-all-trades. Sean is playing Alavara Bryceran, another Elven diabolist in the Zweihander game, but with considerably more class than Cletus. You can hear her eyes roll at all these lowborn fools. Sean and Noah are the group's two most experienced Pathfinder 2e players as well.
Across all of us, you’ll hear a rotating mess of characters, systems, and tones—but it’s always the same table of weirdos trying not to completely wreck the setting. No promises.
